Rainbow Photography http://gallery135050.fotopic.net/ 52 rows en-gb 60 Waterfalls ~ Little Aberdulais http://gallery135050.fotopic.net/c1766827.html I was in need of some of what I call "Waterfall Therapy" yesterday so took a little trip to one of my favourite waterfalls for some peace. On the way home I took a little detour for some unknown reason - and came across a pretty little waterfall that I hadn`t seen before. I don`t know if it has a name but as it was right next to an Aberdulais sign and not far from the Aberdualis Falls, I have named it "Little Aberdulais" :-) I wasn`t actually out for photography but I hope you enjoy the quick snapshots! Yesterday was one of those days, so I headed for Melin Court, one of my regular "haunts" and sat a while in the peace and tranquility, soaking up all the wonderful energy this beautiful waterfall gives out. Of course I also had a camera with me, so although I was there for the peace and not photography, I also took a few snapshots, hope you like them! Although I was disappointed at the lack of viewing angles and amount of overgrowth blocking a lot of the viewpoints, as well as not being able to view the lower cascades, I was still pleased I went and got some nice photo`s of the middle and upper cascades. It has been an exceptionally wet season so they were in full flow. Some were carrying so much riverbed sediment the water reminded me of beer being poured into a glass!. Sadly some were almost hidden by trees and others were not very easy to reach or get a good photographic angle due to the terrain and safety fencing, but overall I am very pleased with the photo`s! The reason for the trip was an overnight investigation at Bodelwyddan Castle for my spiritual work, but also being a photographer I wanted to combine the trip with photography... although I knew we wouldn`t have time to see much or do any serious photography, a few photo opportunities did come up. Sadly most places we tried to visit were closed out of season but I do hope to try and visit again another time. We stayed at an old Farmhouse which is the oldest brick building in Wales!. These photo`s were taken during the trip, and a few taken on return to South Wales of a suprise find of a little frozen waterfall!. Although it rained all day the 9 hours spent in the rain waiting for his 2 hour performance was well worth it... This National Trust property is the best waterfall for elderly, infirm or disabled visitors. It has easy access with disabled facilities and added luxury of toilets and cafeteria (unlike any of the others!). There is a small entrance charge (again unlike any of the others) but worth it. Aberdulais has been immortalised by the Artist Turner and is steeped in local history.
